Quality seeds from the Growers segment

■SUMMER Purslane has a slightly sour and salty flavour and can be eaten either cooked or fresh.
■Postelein requires a lot of heat and is therefore usually grown under glass. The soil temperature should be around 20°C and the temperature at least 20°C during the day and at least 15°C at night.
■Summer outdoor cultivation is also possible in a sheltered garden.
■Under glass is sown from late February to mid-August and covered with plastic film. About 5-7 g of seed per m² is used.
■Immediately after sowing, the soil should be wetted. After a few days, the plastic should be removed again.
■The harvest can start three to five weeks after sowing and amounts to 4-6 kg/m². In the open ground, sowing can be done from the end of May.
■ However, the plants are less tender than when grown under glass. Purslane is a true summer vegetable and is generally harvested from May to the end of September.
